Edgar Allan Poe

Alone From childhood's hour I have not been As others were; I have not seen As others saw; I could not bring My passions from a common spring. From the same source I have not taken My sorrow; I could not awaken My heart to joy at the same tone; And all I loved, I loved alone. Then- in my childhood, in the dawn Of a most stormy life- was drawn From every depth of good and ill The mystery which binds me still: From the torrent, or the fountain, From the red cliff of the mountain, From the sun that round me rolled In its autumn tint of gold, From the lightning in the sky As it passed me flying by, From the thunder and the storm, And the cloud that took the form (When the rest of Heaven was blue) Of a demon in my view Edgar Allan Poe

You can still rock in America!

I feel the urge today, the urge to say something.Something in this weird city of Rockford ,Illinois has left me wondering, thinking and asking myself wow am I really here? This country is changing people are talking politics, the economy, health.Where we were ,where we are and what will be...so many questions such little time.Even though I cannot vote I feel like I'm a part of this huge decision.America you will always be fascinating always. There is a reason why I and so many others are here and I can guarantee its not just about money...but just how things move and people express. No matter what you can still rock in America.

Happy Holi!!

Looking for unity and tolerance in color Today is not just another day and I don’t really wanna scream out the reasons but I just had a few thoughts about my fellow humans. I had one memorable night the other day, don’t get me wrong, but it was this big discussion trying to clear misconceptions that many people have about my country, INDIA. We are as you all know a developing nation trying to deal with enormous burdens on our infrastructure and with some of the most basic problems imaginable. We are and you may disagree with me on this one, a country that holds things like regionalism, communalism and many times things like casteism dear to our heart whether we openly admit it or not. But needless to say we all take great pride in the good things that our country has given to us and our families. So which country does not have problems, where have you seen the perfect society? I asked my American friend. But myths abound, ignorance prevails and second hand notions about an India that I...

Pierre Teilhard de Chardin

"I took the lamp. And leaving the zone of everyday occupations and relationships where everything seems clear,I went down into my inmost self, to the abyss whence I feel dimly that my power of action emanates. But as I moved further and further away from the conventional certainties by which social life is superficially illuminated,I became aware that I was losing contact with myself. At each step of the descent a new person was disclosed within me of whose name I was no longer sure, and who no longer obeyed me. And when I had to stop my exploration because the path faded from beneath my steps, I found a bottomless abyss at my feet, and out of it came - arising I know not from where -the current which I dare to call my life." Teilhard de Chardin

The Unpredictability that is Life

I often wonder what, if anything, there is to make out of such a small life. It’s so unpredictable our problems never end yet there is kindness and good in all of us. So why fret over a rainy day when you can use it as a harsh lesson not to do the things you might have done in the past. Why should one thing change the whole meaning of life? Have we ever thought that our problems might be solutions to larger problems that might have happened, maybe our hurdles are hints, or may I say pointers to the right direction? I fear the unknown, I honestly do but that does not scare me away from life ,that does not confuse me, though all this might be a result of my apparent lack of value of my life but still our life is a plan, its work, it’s a journey, Life is beautiful and painful. Life is what it is. Just keep going and do what you got to do.

Kurt Cobain

Image
Kurt Cobain was a reflection of all of us. He exists in the things we do openly or shun because we want to conform to the norms of society. He brought out in all of us a conscience that is extremely hard to find be it in music or life. Kurt Cobain will always be remembered for being an honest, genuine and true artist, some one who aimed for perfection but was frustrated with things that he could not change no matter how hard he tried. If anything we should all learn and respect him for who he was more than what he did.

Life

I am warm in a borrowed jacket The sky is blue and grey. I’m lost, on borrowed time Life is pushing me in an unknown way. I’m spending my borrowed money to buy lost time today I laugh at borrowed sympathy I must be the only one with nothing left to say. I scoff at this borrowed life I did not need it, I prayed. But somehow I kept on living It was the price I had to pay. So if everything was wrong and nothing was right Would I be the one weeping at my own plight? Would I be the one losing my will ,no hope in sight? Would I lay down without giving a fight? I would, I would, I said. Look at me for I am old , These borrowed ideas and a restless soul Leave if you must pay back if you could But do not whine and complain, well maybe I’m just misunderstood. I’m jaded ,perpetually in cerebral motion Lost with my thoughts they calm me in commotion. Lost in trouble lost in joy forever and ever, where do I go?
